Good Morning~It's a little chilly in Florida, but it feels good. Everyone is gearing up for Thanksgiving except me. Well, that's not completely the truth. I got a turkey and it's thawing out, but it was the cheapest meat on sale for the last two weeks, so that's what's been on the table, you know? Gotta be frugal.
When it's hot, I don't even want to think about knitting, but all it takes is a cold snap, and I'm entertaining the thought of learning to knit socks again. There are free patterns online, and they seem easy enough. I'm sure if I get stuck, I could ask just about any Northern lady to help me out. We got a call yesterday from my husband's neice. She's going to have a baby in March, so you know I'm going to want to make something for the little critter. Seems like winter is such a happy time, even the animals seem happier.
I've got a couple days a week free, and was thinking about looking for a second job. Thank God the price of gas has come down, but makes you want to spit in the soup of whomever is at fault for it going up in the first place. This is not going to make people spend more for Christmas, in fact most people I talk to have resorted to only purchasing gifts for the children in the family, and they have to agree to one gift from mom and dad and one gift from relatives. Adults have been realizing for some time now that we aren't living in the same world we grew up in. It's not a very friendly place anymore.
We're getting ready to take my mother in for surgery on her shoulder. Hoping this will help her become more independant. We'd considered relocating, but both of my parents health are compromised and neither want to move with us. Yep, I'm an only child. Life is so utterly frustrating, so disappointing. You can only do what God puts in front of you each and every day, or else nothing turns out right. I've cried a lot of tears over this. My husband truly wants out of Florida and bless his heart, only God can make a miracle for us.
I see elderberries blooming all over the place, and am going to start picking those blossoms for drying for making tea. They make a very pleasant tea, you just won't believe it unless you try it. I like the berries too. I've got recipes in here somewhere, my favorite is my elderberry, rosemary and pinenut shortbread. Oh it's just too good. Wonderful with coffee or hot tea.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day. My email addy is elaine@bringbacksimplicity.com if anyone wants to email me. Hope you enjoy the bulletin.
God bless each and every one of you today.
Hugs, Elaine
