I know many of us are having to cut down expenses way past what we're used to. I'd like to share with you what we're doing.
Since some neighbors who don't live in the RV section offered the area from their lot to the backside of my parents lot for a big raised bed garden, I believe all three families will have plenty of vegetables. We'll share the expense of the railroad ties, seeds, fertilizer, etc, and upkeep. We're having a planning/planting party soon so we can get this good thing started. The grocery store and gas are the biggest money suckers in my home. Looks like hubby and I will continue to share one car.
Since there have been so many wonderful ideas come through my yahoo groups on how to cut down expenses, I'm breaking it down and making a notebook for all three families, so we'll know what simple things to buy and have on hand and how to use them. I used to buy Fabuloso lavender to mop my floor with because it smells so wonderful, but cost of living says find something cheaper. There are many on the groups who cut down to the bare nub financially long ago. We need you to keep posting from time to time how you do this, because new members come in and are wondering how to get there.
Since I have a job that dictates certain color pants and blouses, I'm going to only keep those colors in my wardrobe. Please don't think I'm telling anyone else to do what I'm doing, this is just what I decided will work for me. I can wear the same clothes to church, to shop, anywhere.
There's not much to my life now since we moved to town. Those of you who live in the country or want to move where you can raise your own food, we'll probably see the day come when we all have to grow at least some of our own food.
Hope you all have a wonderful day. Post and tell us what you are doing or have done today or want to accomplish today. I hope you are able to do everything on your list.
If this post doesn't make any sense, I blame it on getting four hours sleep after trying to get this new computer set up last nght.
