You can grow things from the food you buy at the grocery store. Yep, you sure can. Seeds from the pears, pomegranates, apples, just about everything that has seeds. Not quite everything, but many things. It's worth trying. You can buy ginger root, or chayote squash. Let them sprout in a dark cupboard, then plant them sprout up. I'm told you can plant the end of an onion and carrot. These I have not tried. I have pear seeds drying right now to plant. Take care and have fun planting!!

Don't forget potatoes and sweet potatoes. My grandson planted a sweet potato and that one plant produced for several years.
Some of the seeds in your spice cabinet might be worth a try...celery seed, dill seed, etc.
Try planting some bird seeds. Millet is good for you and will grow for several years if you don't ignore it too much.
