Rice does grow in Florida, or at least it used to. My mother says she remembers her dad grew it for a while. Here's a source to get the seeds if anyone is so inclined to try it. The only wild rice you can plant is raw, natural wild rice. The wild rice you buy in stores, even natural food stores, is parched before storing or eating.
