The way the economy is going, the price of meat is really getting up there in price. Last night in our local Pennysaver, I saw an add where someone is selling raccoon meat. We called and made an appointment to buy some tomorrow. I asked whether he had any armadillo (he didn't) but when I read the possum living book again this morning, it warns that the male possums aren't fit for eating in Feb. so we're going to leave them alone this month. I've got recipes picked out, and have fond memories of the raccoon we ate last year. My husband has too much on his plate to be catching and cleaning meat right now. Buy the way, the raccoon meat is selling for 95 cents a pound. Not bad and it's organic too. Cheapest healthy meat in town. Cooking deactivates any virus that might possibly be in the meat. You can wear plastic gloves when you handle it if you feel unsafe by just washing your hands very well. If things keep going the way it has, selling wild meat will become a good way to make some money so you can go buy something else you need. Just an idea. Have A Great Day!!!!
