Potatoes - Medicinal Properties

In the old days it was not uncommon to put hot potatoes into a woolen sock and wrap it around the neck to provide heat for treating stiff necks and sore throats.

juice extracted from raw potatoes - 1 cup (250 ml) taken on an empty stomach in the morning can diminish acidity levels and reduce ulcers
Antispasmodic
Anti-scorbutic
Poultice to reduce inflammation
Ingredients
6 parts peeled grated raw potato
3 parts leaves of green vegetables - cabbage, spinach, etc., puréed in a food processor or mortar
1 part all-purpose flour
Preparation
Mix all the ingredients, adding a few drops of ice water;
apply to the affected area; cover with a piece of cloth;
let work for 3 hours;
apply hot water compresses to soften the poultice in order to remove it more easily;
rub a little olive oil over the skin to rehydrate
Poultice to reduce bruises and sunburn
grated peeled raw potato
apply directly to the affected area; cover with a piece of cloth;
let work for one hour.
To pass gallstones
This simple recipe comes from an old Cajun healer
boil some potato peelings;
drink 1 cup (250 ml) of this hot liquid 4 times a day;
continue the treatment for 1 week;
check the salts; ordinarily small stones will be eliminated.
Promotes healing (cicatrizant)
