I have an 1896 farmhouse now, but am looking for some sort of housing for our other property. I have narrowed it to 3 choices: an older RV, a yurt, or a cabin (see http://www.yardbarnsandmore.com). We like the 2 story barn/cabin on their site.
In a warm area, even a 16X16 screened shelter will work. We have one in the backyard, and in the winter covering the screen with plastic, makes it a very cosy, homey place to be. It only cost $1800 to build, so even enclosing the sides wouldn't be cost prohibitive. Just some additional ideas to think about...

Good Morning! Sounds like you're pretty much decided what you want for your building. There are a lot of choices, depending on how much money you have to work with. Hey, $1800 is very economical. I thought the yurt was too expensive, but enjoyed looking at them online anyway back when we were wondering what to do. Seems yurts aren't for Florida weather, neither is a lot of other choices out there. Elaine/admin
