(I didn't write this, but found it on another group and thought it might be something we'd need to know)
A mason jar, A funnel (smallish hole at the small end preferred), a little chunk of canned cat/dog food in bottom of jar. Set the funnel small hole end down into jar and set outside. You could also cut a small hole in the side of a empty plastic bottle and stuff a funnel in that or put it on the top like the jar but make sure it cant fall out/get knocked over or someone might get stung if close by. In plastic you can stab a few small holes with a hot nail around it to get the smell out there and they will come faster. A day of sunshine will finish them off because they dehydrate. I bring mine in and plunge them into a sink full of hot soapy water to make SURE I dont have any escapees when I take the apparatus apart to clean and put more bait in. The soapy water instantly makes their wings non functional and any alive go down the drain with the dead ones. Set the jar on something that wont burn-the sun shining thru it could start a fire in the right circumstances so make sure that cant happen. And keep the dog/cats away because they WILL smell the bait too and knock things over and probably get stung.
This time of year the meat is what they are after, a little honey could be drizzled in earlier in the year, but I catch them by the dozens with just a little slab of canned cat food.
