Don't know about you, but I'm trying to grow a little something to help out the food bill. My parents came by yesterday with some lettuce they'd grown. I wasn't even aware that they were growing lettuce, but it was so good! It was nice to have "Just picked" salad.
Please get to know the wild plants in your area. The things you might think are weeds are most likely edible, but make sure you know what you're looking at. Get a book on wild edibles with pictures, and it never hurts to go talk to your local cooperative extension service agent or master gardener to identify each plant. You could be sitting on a totally untapped food source.
I'm going back into my vegetarian phase again. It's been years, but it's all coming back as important to both health and the pocketbook. Whole grains, fruits and vegetables, plenty of rest, good water, kicking away stress, loving our creator and exercise are important. I'm sure there are more, but I'm not really awake yet.
Take care, have a great day! Elaine
