Everything but the collards and kale froze, my palm trees are fighting to put out some new green fronds. It's still sort of sad looking out from the porch after the freeze we had here in Okeechobee.
Down the street some optimist who moved here from Minnesota has already planted eggplants. I just shook my head when I was out walking the other day. This guy never gives up. No matter what happens weatherwise, the next thing you see is styrofoam cups out there with seeds planted in them with tomatoes. He's probably got some of those this time too. Probably on the other side of his boat where I couldn't see them.
When we moved down here from Alaska 23 years ago, my daughter was out shopping with me and said "Mama, only old people live here". She wanted to move somewhere else, but for some reason we moved here and never left. The kids grew up and left the state, so here we are. What do we do with the rest of our lives?
I wonder if there is anyone else wondering the same thing? I did figure out what to do, and that was to get busy doing something for others. It gets my mind off my aching back, and loneliness is gone in an instant when helping others out.
If you find yourself stuck without anything else to do, get on the phone and ask around if there is anything you can do. You can probably get a ride to and from especially since you're working for free. Try not to sit on your can feeling sorry for yourself. There is always somebody out there who is worse off than you, and they might be doing way more than you are.
Heavenly Father right now, I pray for people who feel like there is nothing for them to do, who feel their life is over with no place for them to be. Open up doors for them to go through and make a way for them to feel needed again. Give them a tender heart toward others and let that love spill out on others who need them. In Jesus precious Name.
Amen
Have a great day! God is so good, and He loves you because you belong to Him.
