Okay, so I'm sitting here in an air conditioned office, nevertheless WINTER is coming. Have you felt the urge to get started on a project or hobby you can do all winter long yet? I have. Hubby and I have decided we want to make sausage. He's looking up smokers and I'm looking up sausage grinder/stuffers. We've never made sausage in our lives, so this should be fun. I think what we're really dreaming of is the aroma of smoking sausage wafting throughout our neighborhood.
What are you wanting to get into? My husband is thinking about building himself a little shed. Lets hope he builds something onto the outside of it where I can keep potting soil and pots handy. If only he had both the time and money to build the things we've dreamed up (grin) Life happily goes on whether we do or don't.
I must be the only person on the planet who has never been to ebay, but that changed today. I found things like soap molds, food dehydrators, smokers, yogurt makers, juicers, grain mills, kefir grains(they are a live culture) sorbet makers, shoes, you name it. Had no idea there was such a huge variety of things out there people are trying to sell, and cheap too!! Why buy from a store when you can buy from ebay.
This week I also discovered accessoryrow.com, amazon.com, halfprice.com, overstock.com, and even jobs.myspace.com. Wow what a different world from when I was growing up, you know, a few years ago.
I've been thinking about going out to pick avocodo leaves to cook with (yeah, google that) mango leaves for drying and making tea. Papaya leaves can be dried and made into tea as well, but they look an awful like brown spiders until you crush them up fine.
Sitting here looking at beautiful Lake Okeechobee out the window. I have the best job in the world. Might not pay much, but it sure settles my nerves to look at water all day long.
Have a wonderful day!
Elaine
