It's soooo cold this morning. I have my fuzzy polar bear jammies on, blanket and heater on and big cup of hot tea. Hope everyone is staying warm. Making a pot of tomato soup with kernal corn and cheddar cheese for lunch...Corn tortillias homemade if I get energetic, saltines if not....(grin) Have a project today, cleaning out a tabletop water fountain, preparing it for new river rock, hopefully some good colors I like with some black mixed in. I dearly love fountains inside and outside the house. Elaine

Hi Susan! Yes, I saw the weather report too. You all might get more than a couple of inches, looks like. We could use some of that rain here in Florida, but I hope we don't get any until after we get moved. Moving in the rain is not fun. Can't imagine trying to go to a state fair in the rain. Are you going? Yeah, chicken soup is good. Did you get it started yet? I'll be right over..LOL Got two more calls today, people wanting to buy chickens. We've had one to three calls a day after I went and GAVE them away to a woman who said she had no money. I was so sick that day, and there's been so many times we had no money, something free meant so much, I just gave them to her. My husband said if he knew so many people wanted to buy chickens, we'd have been raising them to sell instead of just eating the eggs. They were good healthy chickens. Elaine

Still raining....All of my Fall scarecrows are down for the count. My front yard looks pretty creepy with scarecrows lying flat on their backs. I finally let one of my cats out. Simba is an indoor/outdoor kitty and has been moaning at the front door since yesterday. My 3 outdoor dogs are in my laundry room. They absolutely hate being outside in the rain even with the cushy costly dog mansions in the back. My 2 inside dogs have been great, their little bladders working just enough for a quick run in the rain twice a day. I did make the chicken soup, but we are having it today. I got the gourmet bug yesterday and made chicken cutlets with marsala mushroom sauce. I have been raising chickens for 2 years now. I've been getting about 2 dozen eggs a day. I give all to my church family. I think I will start to sell some next year, raise some money for new coops. I have 1 lil duckie; I thought it was a male until SHE surprised me with eggs. Now I want to look for a duckie daddy!!! Susan Elm Grove, Louisiana

Susan, do you know other people with ducks that might sell you a male? Elaine

Elaine, unfortunately no. I got the ducks at my feed store and they only carry them around Easter. I originally had two; but one got out and decided to say hi to the dogs. Last thing that duck ever did... I might try Freecycle or one of the sell it today sites. It finally stopped raining this morning. What a mess... Tried to convince my husband to go to the fair tonight, but he reminded me about the football game at my daughter's high school. They go every Friday as a dad-daughter thing. I guess maybe he'll fit me in sometime next week. (yeah, I'm whining) Susan Elm Grove, Louisiana
