Think of what happened last year when Katrina hit the gulf coast. Food and water was one of the things that most really didn't have or prepare for.
From talking to some it wasn't all that didn't have food and water stored it was the ability to get to some of it. What was said would be think about having it higher. A friend of my sisters is making cabinets that are up higher. There was 8 feet of water in their house alone and storing stuff was on ground level of the house (1 first of house) it was in the pantry. It happened really fast. The didn't expect it that high. They have had it flood before so they had higher shelfes in the pantry but not that high. They had down the dyhedrating thing and so water and the food. Some even got washed away.
Now they have a place on the second floor
God Bless Anna
