Apple Butter
This was my MIL's recipe. It didn't call for being waterbathed canned, just said to put the hot mixture in the hot jars and they would seal. If you want to make it, do it however you are comfortable processing it.
Lizzie
Apple Butter
6 lbs apples 3 qts. Cider 3 tblsp. Sugar 1 tsp. Ground cloves 1 tsp. allspice 1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
Peel and cut apples. Cook with all ingredients until soft. When soft either mash with a potato masher or a large spoon. Simmer until thickened, stirring frequently.
Pour into hot jars, screw lids on. May take up to an hour to seal
