Guess it's looking like Fall everywhere now! I'm eyeballing the pumpkins every time we go to town, and all those cute decorations. Just thinking about pumpkin pie and pumpkin soup and pumpkin cookies......oh my!! We're going to have a real stove with an oven in the trailer, and I'll get to use a real oven for the first time in years. Have been using a toaster oven and they bake most things, but don't go a good job on cakes or bread, only on cornbread or brownies or cookies. Looking at the news I see many already have SNOW!!!!!! We don't have snow but we've been running the heat off and on for over a week now. I have the humidifiers cranked up, too, since I don't do well with the drying effects of heat. The new ultrasonic one deposits a fine white powder all over the living room...I think it's from the minerals in our water, since we have a well and live in a hard-water area. There's a demineralization cartridge in it, but I'm not sure it can handle the clanky stuff that comes out of our faucet. However, I'm not using distilled water...it costs too much.

We haven't had an oven (or a stove) in years either. It finally dawned on us that we could bake stuff in our roasting oven other than the once-a-year turkey. Guess we will have to buy a stove for this trailer when we decide to sell it. Peggy

Yeah Peggy, people are a little funny like that. They need a real stove or it just doesn't seem like home. Marks been working a little each evening on the trailer, RV, whatever it's called. By the way, my mother got a Jewish prayer shawl two days ago. I wasn't feeling well, so she put it around my shoulders and showed me how to hold the corner threads. It felt like a part of me that was missing had been placed around me. I started crying, not truly crying but like a deep down relief cry from inside me. Isn't that strange? And I felt relief in my body. Now I want one of my own. Elaine

Wonder where she got it. I've been wanting one, too. Remember, we have Jewish roots (Tobias).

Who us 6N2YSKS? Peggy is that you Who has Jewish roots? You mean our family has Jewish roots? My mother got her prayer shawl from her neighbor who is Jewish because she asked for one. Her's is blue and cream with gold threads. They're all over the internet, and can get quite costly the fancier they look. Just look up Jewish Tallit. Tallit clips, tallit, and other things. Women can wear the head covering caps too, but I need to learn a lot more. Elaine

Tobias is a Biblical Jewish name. They were Lutheran and from Germany.
Many Lutherans sheltered Jews during times of persecution and many Jews converted to Lutheranism. And I think that is what happened with our Tobias family. Can't prove it yet, but the name remains Jewish never the less.
